SBCC's Transfer Achievement Program directs its efforts toward improving the
transfer rate of underrepresented students, 1st generation college students,
low-income students to four-year academic institutions.
T.A.P. is a comprehensive support program designed to assist underrepresented
students who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university.
Our goal is to facilitate a smooth transition from SBCC to a four-year institution.
Those who would benefit most from our program as economically disadvantaged,
educationally disadvantaged, and ethnically underrepresented students. Ethnically
underrepresented students include historically disadvantaged students, as defined
by the four-year institutions (African-American, Chicano/Mexican-American, American
Indian/Alaskan Native).
T.A.P. offers individualized in-depth advising to future transfers and outreach
to potential transfer students. The program is designed to insure that each
T.A.P. student participates in important transfer activities and valuable services
related to successfully transferring.
The T.A.P. staff is comprised of transfer advisors and support staff committed
to the academic achievement of its students.
