Welcome to SBCC Women’s Tennis
Santa Barbara women’s tennis has a strong reputation for excellence in and out of the classroom. The Vaqueros have been honored for having the highest GPA in the state for women’s tennis. In 2000, the ladies fought their way to the state final, and in 2001 they brought home the first women's tennis state championship in school history.
Since the 1970s, SBCC has produced strong, competitive teams which focus on the overall effort of the student-athlete as opposed to the outcome. Student-athletes are challenged, in a positive and supportive environment, to strive for their individual and team goals while developing a strong character.
On June 4, 2008, Debbie Ekola was named head coach, replacing her mother, Louella Parsons, who had coached the Vaqueros the last three seasons.
