Vocational Nursing Application Procedure

 

The VN program accepts applications year-round from students who have completed all program requirements.  The next cohort begins in August 2023.

If you are not already an SBCC student, please submit a college application.  

Please submit the Vocational Nurse Application to ljmichalak@pipeline.sbcc.edu.  

Official high school transcripts: If an official high school transcript is not available, the student must provide an official GED certificate.International transcripts must be evaluated for equivalency by a professional Evaluation Service.  A list of acceptedagencies is available from the Health Technologies Office or the Counseling Office.  Exception: High school transcripts are not required if the student possesses an Associate or Bachelor degree and provides official college transcripts that reflect this.       

Official college transcripts: Submit official transcripts from any college other than SBCC to:  SBCC, Admissions & Records, 721 Cliff Drive,Santa Barbara, CA  93109.   We will obtain your SBCC transcripts.

TEAS test results: If the TEAS test is taken at an ATI or PSI testing site, the student will need to have a copy of their results submitted from ATI to SBCC's Health Technologies Office.

Submit copy of CNA License, or copy of CNA certification if license is inactive

 

CREDIT: Any student who plans to request transfer into, recognition of credit, or apply for readmission into Health Technologies programs is required to meet with the Director of the LVN Program before beginning a course of study toward degree or certificate. The policy and procedures will be explained at that time and are based on the regulations as set forth by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Accepted applicants who wish to be credited for previous education must have documentation, originals and photocopies of transcripts, or certificates documenting the education.  Upon satisfactory receipt and evaluation of the information provided, credit will be granted and noted in the student’s file.
